Residential 1 & 2

R1 and R2 are located within the geographical area marked 3. As with the central village, they are in the flattest and most accessible area on site (apart from the preexisting factory area, which it borders).

This is the easiest of all the areas for development. By placing a primary path going from north to south, and secondary paths going from east to west (off the main path), this area can be developed relatively easily. By spacing the secondary paths every 100m and the houses every 50m, we estimate that 50-75 houses can be located between these 2 areas. The fact that this land is much less steep means that larger houses can be built.

The lower part of this area contains all of the important existing infrastructure. Please note, we recommend R1 & R2 for residents who want to live on the land within the next 2 years.

Residential 3

R3 is also located within the geographical zone marked 3. As with R1 and 2 it is relatively flat land with good access.

The main different is in terms of available view and risk of landslide. This area is located between two steep ridges and adjacent to a river. Although the river is very fixed in its path, the lack of view and risk of landslides means that we would recommend a lower cost style of development, aimed at shorter term guests. The afore mentioned risks can be reduced greatly by:
  • a) Planting Bamboo along the edge of the river and primary path.
  • b) Planting fast growing native trees on the exposed parts of the surrounding slopes.

We recommend this zone for Residents interested in Geodesic / bio domes, pods, bamboo homes, treehouses and tiny homes.

Residential 4

This area is situated in area 1 and has an ideal south facing location with beautiful views.

In order to develop this area, access is the key. The land is too steep to terrace, therefore creating primary paths, on contour would be the only feasible way we can see of developing this area (20.80 Ha).

This will need to be done with machinery, and serious consideration will need to be given to make sure appropriate water and soil retention are carried out. These techniques are discussed further in section titled Access.

Once the road is in place, houses can be build on stilts on either side of it. The above estimation of 120 houses, is made based on placing lots separated by 50SQM. The majority of the rest of the area can be either kept as a reserve, or converted into an agroforestry plantation.

We recommend this zone for Residents looking to live on the land within 2-5 years.

Residential 5

Residential Homes
3.300 Linear meters along secondary roads where housing can be located with the potential to locate 120 houses 50 meters on both sides of the roads.

Agroforestry
The majority of the rest of the area can be either kept as a reserve, or converted into an agroforestry plantation.

We recommend this zone for Residents that love the sun, and want to live on the land within 2-5 years.
